To provide delegates with a good knowledge of working within a confined space where a hazardous environment is present and hazards are expected.

Delegates will be assessed on 3 practical exercises (using 10 minute escape sets and SCBA) and 2 multiple choice knowledge tests.

- How to prepare to work, enter and exit confined spaces safely

- Prepare and use appropriate respiratory protective equipment (RPE) and Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) for working and escape purposes

- Use equipment and tools safely

- Follow procedures and deal with emergencies

- Gain practical skills in a realistic environment

- Legislation and regulations – what is covers

- Discuss a High Risk Confined Space

- Discuss safety working systems including; permit to work, categorising work space, risk assessments, communication methods and BA – SBA/line

- Prepare to enter confined space and carry out risk assessments, practice using SCBA and emergency exit confined space
