This course provides delegates with a good knowledge of working within confined space where the probability of an abnormality existing regarding atmosphere or physical change to space is negligible, and where adequate precautions to negate the effects of potential hazards are in place.

Delegates will be assessed on 2 practical exercises (using 10 minute escape sets) and 1 multiple choice knowledge test.

Learning Objectives:

-       How to prepare to work, enter and exit confined spaces safely

-       Prepare and use appropriate respiratory protective equipment (RPE) for working and escape purposes

-       Use equipment and tools safely

-       Follow procedures and deal with emergencies

-       Gain practical skills in a realistic environment

Course Overview

-       Confined Space – Legislation and regulations

-       Understanding the definition of Low Risk Confined spaces

-       Carry out risk assessments and discuss documentation that should be in place

-       Put monitoring equipment in place, check communications and atmospheric conditions
